THE BRIAN AND PATRICIA GIESE FOUNDATION PROVIDES GRANTS TO CREATE, ENHANCE OR SCALE SPECIFIC PROGRAMMING NEEDS ALIGNED WITH THE MISSION AND VISION OF THE GRANTEE ORGANIZATION.

Grants will be committed to educational institutions and high-impact non-profits working within the targeted geographic service areas.

  • actively engage the community to assess the educational environment, drawing upon interviews with key stakeholders to better understand the community’s landscape regarding pk-12 education with a focus on disadvantaged youth
  • Seek partners across the entire education spectrum to best leverage available resources
  • invest funding into targeted programs with grantee partners
  • ensure grants are directly linked to creating equity in the educational system leveling the playing field and improving outcomes for children and youth
  • compile a robust and comprehensive collection of baseline data gathered from multiple approved sources
  • collaboratively develop measurable outputs, outcomes, and impacts using standardized indicators and metrics
  • Measure and Evaluate Progress
  • make adjustments, as necessary, to best achieve the desired results

Grantmaking Guidelines

WE DO NOT TAKE UNSOLICITED FUNDING REQUESTS.

The grant making strategy of the foundation is to leverage existing programming efforts, or to cultivate and grow better integrated supports with identified partners, with our eye towards creating successes in more broadly derived collective impacts. Thus, the reason we do not take unsolicited funding requests.

Our goal is to work within the system to:

  • identify key partners
  • develop a shared vision for creating positive change
  • establish a method for measuring this change over time through agreed-upon metrics, with known baselines and planned targets
  • actively work by, with, and through our partners to execute the plan
  • constantly review, assess, and learn to help inform future decisions and action steps

Brian Giese
Prior to establishing the foundation, Brian was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of True Influence. Brian co-founded True Influence in 2008 and over the the next 13 years grew the company to hundreds of people worldwide, scaling it to extraordinary revenues, and years of escalating profit. In November 2021 Brian led the companies acquisition to a successful outcome.

Now he is dedicating his time finding and implementing innovative solutions to improving Christian education and social programs. To this end, Brian and his wife, Patty, founded the Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation in 2022.

Brian is originally from Maryland and now spends time in Annapolis and San Juan, Puerto Rico.. He lives with his wife, Patty and is the proud father of three children and one grandchild.
Patricia Giese
Patty is passionate about young children and helping them to develop into strong Christian leaders. Prior to helping raise the Giese clan of three kids, Patty was trained as a Register Nurse (RN) with experience at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center amongst others.

Patty is a dedicated children’s advocate and served for ten years in the children’s ministry of Community Bible Study (CBS) in Bethesda, Maryland. She loves people of all ages and has a special affinity for the elderly.

She is inspired by the role she sees the Giese Foundation playing in linking Christian student development to individual success, family cohesion, and community resilience.
Kathy Giese Wiles
Kathy is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) passionate about child advocacy, mental health and resiliency work. Over the past decade, Kathy has worked in religious and secular settings, prioritizing trauma-informed and multidisciplinary care for children. Today she is honored to work alongside non-profits that are fighting to enhance confidence and build authentic faith in the future generation.

Kathy is lives full time with her family in Annapolis, Maryland. She loves people, a healthy debate, child-development, and personality analysis, in no particular order. When not working, she is often found sipping coffee at the local coffee shop with her husband or chasing her one year old and puppy around town.
