Scholarship Fund
Investing in the Next Generation
Every award we make is an investment in a student whose life already reflects faith, character, and a heart for serving others. The Brian & Patricia Giese Scholarship Fund exists to remove the financial barriers standing between promising students and their higher education — so they can keep leading, keep serving, and keep growing in their walk with Christ while they earn an academic degree.
This isn’t a transaction. It’s an expression of confidence in who a student is becoming, and it walks with them from their senior year of high school into their years at Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) — one less financial barrier standing in the way.
Who We’re Looking For
We are not just looking for the highest GPA in the room, though academic excellence matters. We are looking for students whose faith shapes how they show up — in their classrooms, their churches, and their communities. Students who lead. Students who serve. Students who face real financial need and refuse to let it define what’s possible for them.
Our Selection Committee looks for that combination in every applicant:
- Faith and Christian character — a life oriented around Jesus
- Financial need — real barriers that the Scholarship Fund can help remove
- Academic excellence — a proven record of doing the work and doing it well
- Leadership and service — a demonstrated commitment to faith-based communities, whether through a church youth group or campus ministry
How It Works
Each year, we award Scholarship Fund support — including tuition and required fees — to help students pursue their education. This is paid directly to Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) on the student’s behalf once enrollment is verified.
Applications are due 60 days prior to school starting. Selected finalists are invited to a virtual interview, giving our Committee the chance to hear a student’s story directly, in their own words. If selected, you will receive an award notification and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining the terms and conditions.
Who Can Apply
The Scholarship Fund is for graduating seniors. If you are a person of faith graduating from an Anne Arundel County high school with your sights set on a degree in an academic field such as nursing, engineering, mathematics, or science, this support can help you get there. We look for students admitted full-time to AACC, showing real financial need, and already living out their faith through service in their community.
Full eligibility requirements and application details are available in our Scholarship Fund Applicant Guide.
